Disentangling the tangle: untying deeply conditioned knots, Half day retreat at New York Insight

In this half-day workshop, we will explore how mindfulness and compassion can loosen and free deeply conditioned patterns of entangled thought, belief, and emotion related to our social being. These “karmic knots” include such patterns as “I’m not good enough,” “there won’t be enough for me,” or “I have to take care of everybody and I’m not allowed to take care of my own needs.” These ancient patterns are adopted at a young age and become deeply ingrained, shaping our sense of self and having enormous unconscious impact in how we see our place in the world. Through exploring five stages of relating to these patterns, we can update our programming, finding increasing freedom from the “stickiness” of these stories and accessing a more flexible mind and heart that can relate to the world as it is now.
